Concrete bunker built in WW2 as defence against invasion, quite common across the UK especially in the South and East. This one now stands in a field of wheat.

The name Hinxton is a contraction of Hengestestun, "the town of Hengest".[2] The village of Hinxton is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Hestitona, as Hyngeston in the Ely Registers of 1341 and Hengestone in the Ramsey Chartulary.
