Blackmore village is a place to visit they have a great Tea room Homemade cakes made on the premises just across the road there is a little church rumour have it Henry the eighth went there

Located in close proximity to Thorndon Old Hall which burnt down in the 18th century, the Pond is also known as Old Hall Pond. It is now a fishing lake and a popular spot for walkers. Make sure you pop out of the woods at the south west corner of the pond for incredible views over the Essex countryside to the south.

A rustic little café located in the back of an antique store. Simple but very nice. Cash only.

Watch out for conkers, but a lovely easy bit of off road through some ancient forest, used by Henry XIII for hunting when he stayed at Blackmore.

Great place to plan a stop on a ride out from London. An excellent cafe, a pub and also a supermarket next door. What more could you want?
