Lovely cafe doing breakfasts, lunches, coffee and cake. Nice toilet. Seats outside in the sunshine

A bit more basic than The Loft just down the road but open on Tue & Wed when The Loft is closed.

Great stop-off for tea/coffee or snack during a bike ride or walk. Bike and dog friendly. Staff were very friendly. You can sit inside or out.

Great cafe/restaurant at Tollesbury Marina. You can sit outside and overlook the Woodrolfe Creek.

Beautiful huts from the early period of tourism here in the 1920s.

Nice local cafe by the church green with outdoor seating and bike racks. Open 9-5 except Sundays.

Nice location by a little green square. There's a decent cafe opposite as well.

Opening times aren't fully reliable so might be a bit hit and miss but fortunately there are a number of other seafood places nearby if you're unlucky here.

The very end of the road so you'll have to retrace your route, but it's an interesting spot amid the marshes and there are a few cafes and bistros to make this a mid-ride stop.

The seafront road rises up slightly to give wide views across the Blackwater estuary towards the Dengie Peninsula opposite, with the bulk of Bradwell nuclear power station looming over the far coastline.

An iconic landmark in Tollesbury, the lightship is an outdoor activities base, called Trinity. Built in 1952, she was previously known as LV15 and was a light vessel in the Bristol Channel.

Tollesbury Wick Marshes is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust. You can hike along the sea wall from Tollesbury to take in this large reserve that is abundant with wildlife. You may also spot ponies, cattle and sheep grazing the land.

The marina is a lovely mix of historic boatyard and new yachts and playthings. You can while away an interesting time having a look round and there is a cafe nearby. Take care during spring tides as the access roads can flood.

Sandy and shingle beach lined with pastel coloured beach huts overlooking the Blackwater Estuary. A good swimming spot.
