Moderate trail for everyone to explore and enjoy

Beautiful old church. Wonderful stain glass window. Set in a beautiful, well-kept churchyard on the side of a hill at the top of the village.

All the cafés and inns are good - though special mention to Bridge House (opposite car park near church) for "proper good food", a really nice welcome, and being able to store bikes inside (just ask) - hot choc is amazing!

Going from north to south first section badly torn up by motorcycle I think, flattens out once you reach the top

We once had a wonderfully delicious cream tea with all the trimmings in the beautiful garden, right next to the ford. Over the years we have tried again and again to repeat the experience... Unfortunately, always in vain, because the great tea room is only open very irregularly. But it's definitely worth a try if you're in Winsford! P. S. We were there again and were once again thrilled by this lovely place. Unfortunately the garden will close forever at the end of October 23, and the tea room (inside) will close on December 18th. The owners are retiring. Shame, shame, shame, it was one of the most delightful places for cream tea on Exmoor.

Nynehead Hollow is a scenic lane forming part of NCN 3. It's an impressive road that has been roughly carved through solid rock, with high walls and trees growing above. The “Hollow” was said to be dug out by the Sandford family in the hope of making Nynehead Court quicker to get to from the servant houses which were situated in East Nynehead.

This church in Dulverton dates back to the 15th century, although there are records of a church on this site as early as 1155. The tower in Bank Square survives from its origins, but the rest of the church underwent a major reconstruction in the mid-19th century.

This dam was constructed in two phases, beginning in 1974 and completed in 1978. Due to a dry winter and the need for water during the summers of the two following years, the lake did not overflow until 1980.

This section goes over the Wimbleball Dam, constructed between 1974 and 1979. As you walk across this impressive structure, standing over 40 meters tall, you'll have the opportunity to observe all its details as well as the surrounding landscape.

Although there is record of a church existing on this site in 1155, the building before you dates back to the 15th century, and a significant portion of it was restored in the mid-19th century. It is listed as a Grade II building."
