A beautiful, ornate, and very detailed fairy house carved from and old tree stump. Very conveniently across the road from the wonderfully quaint Half Moon Inn

Opened in January 1859, Witley Station is on the Portsmouth Direct Line from London. It's actually located in the village of Wormley, which developed around the station – Witley is a short walk to the north. The station gives access to some lovely hikes in the Surrey Hills and other stations on the line are within walking distance, such as Haslemere and Godalming.

Frillinghurst Wood is a lovely place for a relaxing stroll. There are a number of trails that explore the woodland and it's easy to put together a short loop. It's inhabited by various bird species, including woodlarks, nightjars, marsh tits and lesser spotted woodpeckers. It's also worth bringing close-focussing binoculars along, as there are plenty of moths and butterflies to spot too.

Nicely dialled-in espresso (from a roastery in Merrow) plus lovely sausage rolls and cakes at a friendly cafe on the picturesque village green

Great coffee and cake stop plus sandwiches, pasties etc. Very bike friendly with a workshop pump available.
