Queen's Square is a Georgian square near Bristol's city centre. Between the 1930s and 1991 a main road went through the middle, but a successful Lottery bid for funding allowed it to be restored to it's 1817 layout. In the centre of the square is an equestrian statue of William III by John Michael Rysbrack, cast in 1733 and erected in 1736.

Here is the entrance to Ashton Court, a grand historic estate located just outside Bristol. It's set within 850 acres of rolling parkland and woodlands and there are cycle trails throughout.

Requires a little hop over a fence but lovely views out to Wales and some beautiful wild flowers around!

This area was designated as a tree lined square and a place to play bowls in 1622. It was laid out on an old area of marshland previously used as a dump and firing range. The first houses were built on the southern side of the square between 1699 & 1700, and it was named Queen Square in 1702 after Queen Anne. The statue of William III was erected in 1736. Today it's a lovely place to walk or take a break. The square is sometimes used as a venue for a big screen and communal party for events like the Olympics or world cups.

The lane here runs alongside the M5 for a few miles, and it’s most obvious here.

Lovely tucked away pub and plenty of outdoor seating for the summer time

Off-road singletrack zig zags from the woods down to Clevedon. Steep, fun and a bit technical on a gravel bike with some tight turns. Great fun and a challenge on drop bars.

Great spot for a panorama view of the Suspension Bridge, Clifton and Leigh Woods.

These were created for Bristol’s year as European Green Capital in 2015. After being in the city centre for a while, they found a new home 🐋

An excellent spot to sit before the crowds arrive later in the day and, early in the morning, the area is full of bunnies.
