오늘날 그림 같은 순례 교회가 서 있는 곳에는 원래 작은 숲 공터가 있었습니다. 계곡에서 계곡으로 산길을 건너던 사람들이 이곳에서 쉬었습니다. 이 휴식 장소에서 Waldrast라는 이름이 유래되었습니다.

A great lake here, and lots for kids to play and explore. We passed beautiful alpine huts and cows 🐄 along the way. Great views of the mountains 🏔️ and through green forests and moorland... We didn't take the lift back down, but rather the summer toboggan run. It's a very fast and steep descent into the valley. It's a bit of an adrenaline rush 😄

A lovely little playground for children and a nature-themed pub offer a variety of activities right next to the monastery. Those who can't walk that far can take the scenic train from the panoramic restaurant at the mountain station (fee applies).

Maria Waldrast is one of the highest monasteries in Europe. It is located at 1,638 meters and is surrounded by a stunning mountain backdrop. You can stop off at the pilgrimage monastery or stay overnight.

For kids: King Serli's nature trail (approx. 2 km there and back) or continue via Miederer Kapellenweg back to Koppenegg; 8 meeting points for the children with a surprise at the valley station. Absolute MUST: Descent on the summer toboggan run

Nice place to relax. There are wooden loungers available.

The new Ochsenhütte was only built in 2013 using timber-frame construction and is a popular destination in both summer and winter. In summer, the Serlesbummelbahn also stops there and folk music afternoons are also held.
