A lovely little playground for children and a nature-themed pub offer a variety of activities right next to the monastery. Those who can't walk that far can take the scenic train from the panoramic restaurant at the mountain station (fee applies).

Maria Waldrast is one of the highest monasteries in Europe. It is located at 1,638 meters and is surrounded by a stunning mountain backdrop. You can stop off at the pilgrimage monastery or stay overnight.

The new Ochsenhütte was only built in 2013 using timber-frame construction and is a popular destination in both summer and winter. In summer, the Serlesbummelbahn also stops there and folk music afternoons are also held.

On the way to the Maria Waldrast pilgrimage monastery, you repeatedly pass so-called rosary chapels. If you walk the entire chapel path (approx. 3 hours walk) from the village square in Mieders to Maria Waldrast, there are a total of 15 rosary chapels. The wayside chapels are identical in construction. They have an almost square floor plan, a steep gable roof, a round-arch niche with a cross vault and a painted starry sky below. The original wall painting was created by the Tyrolean artist Caspar Jele in 1853/54. The niche shrines on the chapel path were restored by the Hall artist Prof. Franz Krautgasser in 1952. They depict the 15 mysteries of the joyful, sorrowful and glorious rosary.

The three crystal-clear lakes invite you to cool off, rest and play. For the children there is a water play area with a cone-washing system, whitewater course and raft. Relaxation loungers and benches are set up around them so that you can enjoy the impressive mountain panorama and unwind.

The Miederser Summer toboggan run offers an exciting downhill ride and is a popular attraction for families and adventurous visitors alike. The course is usually open during the summer months, depending on weather conditions. It's a fun way to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while getting an adrenaline rush!

The Serlespark is located near the mountain station of the Serlesbahn. It is an area that extends around the new reservoirs of the Serles. It offers enough space for all kinds of activities, from walking and playing to picnicking and enjoying the view.
