A narrow road kept shaded by the trees so is a slippery descent. At the bottom is a 90 degree left handed which is iffy enough, but when coupled with the immediate give way can be scary if you get unlucky with grip, traffic, or both.

Moderate trail with slight elevation and amazing views

Torre Cider Farm is a farm shop and café in the pretty village of Torre Somerset. The café serves great food all day and the shop sells local produce and snacks as well as cider. They also have glamping on site so you could make this a base for Exmoor and northern Somerset bike rides. Closed on Tuesday and open from 9:30 till 17:00 every other day. late opening until 20:00 on Sat. Food served daily until 15:00 or 19:30 on Sat.

The railway makes a fun challenge ride. Friends or family members can ride the train and you can race on the bike there and back with an ice cream or chips on the sea front in the middle.

Bishops Lydeard station is the southern terminus of the West Somerset heritage railway. The railway runs from here north to the coast near Watchet and then along the coast to Minehead. There are regular steam and heritage diesel trains running throughout the year but check the website for timings. https://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk/

The Square in the heart of Wiveliscombe is home to some absolutely fantastic buildings. With several Grade Listed structures and some dating back to the 17th century, it makes for a beautiful town centre. The most magnificent building has exquisitely carved wooden panels featuring Norwegian-style characters.

This Elizabethan manor lies on the south western edge of the Quantock Hills AONB and occupies a particularly serene spot. Built in 1646, it underwent significant rebuilding in the 1800s after being partially demolished during the civil war. Today, the manor is used as an event venue and is not generally open to the public. However, it has an impressive gate and a gatehouse, both of which are visible from the road. A footpath – part of the West Deane Way – runs alongside the manor, allowing you to get good views of its exquisite exterior. A Grade I-listed church lies immediately behind it.

The southern terminus of the West Somerset Heritage Railway, visiting this historic station feels like stepping back in time. Even if you don't plan on catching a train here, the station is wonderful to explore and you can find the Gauge Museum on platform 1 to find out more about the line's history. Fantastic part of the country not to be missed

A 20 hectare nature reserve consisting of wet heath, semi-natural deciduous woodland, scrub, bracken and ponds. Stunning display of wildflowers in the summer.

On a clear day, a really beautiful descent down the valley to Luxborough. Quite narrow so not one to bomb.

A steep climb with some long sections over 11%, worth it for the views over the valley back down toward Luxborough

A pretty but challenging climb onto the Quantocks. Starts with a manor and then woodland and impressive valleys.

A cracking climb indeed but I’m afraid Pines Cafe is no more having burnt down.
