Ashby Folville is a lovely quiet Leicestershire village with pretty chestnut tree-lined lanes and a 1,000 year old church. The charming village pub serves good ales with pub grub to boot. Quite the spot to take a break. Head east on Folville Street to the heart of the village.

This lane features on the Cicle Classic pro race, and Owston is a hub for this event. The lane is narrow and undulating, but a very enjoyable ride - even on narrow tyres.

Rideable on any bike. Great little lane with grass in the middle.

As well as serving good pub grub at reasonable prices, the establishment has a definite games culture, with darts, pool and even skittles on offer.

Tilton on the Hill is one of the highest villages in Leicestershire at 719 feet (219 m) above sea level. It is a lovely village that has a couple of B&Bs and an excellent pub, which serves good food and has rooms to stay in. The impressive St Peter's Church is Grade I-listed and there are a further 18 buildings in the Tilton area that are Grade II-listed.
