There was no mention of this on the map which seems strange as it appears to have been there for a few years. Why it’s in this specific place, I have no idea.

Great views over Boxley from the North Downs Way.

Classic country pub with garden and good food. Fuel up before the hill!

A beautiful green space in the heart of Maidstone, Mote Park is a popular place for recreation and offers a variety of running on grassland and in woodland in a relatively small place. Once the grounds of the stately home, Mote House, it even has a minature railway.

Originally built in 1195 by monks of Boxley Abbey to brew beer. Became a pub in 1539, and at various times later used as a coaching halt, customs and excise posting house, poor house, and post office. Now a pub with a large beer garden and very popular for food.

Begun in the 13th century, added to in the 14th and 15th, and restored in the 1870s.
