Mainly hard packed gravel and tarmac. Pub half along route. Nice easy cycle

Worth putting your nose into Harby church to see this. Eleanor's heart is preserved in Lincoln cathedral but her body was transported to London. At every overnight stop her husband, Edward 1(?), erected a cross, hence Waltham Cross, Charing Cross and 10 others.

You can ride this section on a road bike (this tour was done on one) however, it isn't smooth and might be a bit muddy after heavy rain.

The Pyewipe Inn, alongside the Fossdyke Canal Trail is the perfect location for those who prefer more relaxed scenery to enjoy a leisurely meal and pint with, compared to the bustle of the nearby city of Lincoln (less than 2 miles away).

Entrances into Old Wood are via bridle gates – suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs – and stiles, although at some points of entry access may be limited. The eastern side of the wood is accessed via two public byways which join up with a bridleway and footpath running along the eastern edge of the site.
