It’s a cheeky climb but well worth doing

Lovely place to sit and be peaceful. Fabulous views over surrounding countryside. Lovely old church and grassy graveyard. Fab starting point for a ramble through Hanbury woods and fields and Hanbury Hall estate

The quiet tree-lined back roads to the north of Redditch, in particular around the Aspley Heath and Portway area, are simply quite blissful to ride on. Here you can enjoy the serenity of lush green countryside, leefy country roads, gentle undulating terrain, and tranquil surroundings, which seems totally at odds with the multitude of nearby urban environments.

Singing countryside lanes along NCN 5, very quiet, almost no traffic, lots of cyclist. NCN 5 goes to Bromsgrove (North-western direction) or Redditch (Eastern direction)

After a section under the bridge (M5), views of this gently babbling brook are shown to your eyes. It follows the lane for about 250m

Lots of vegan choices

There's a step-free footbridge to the side, and picnic tables to stop for a few minutes. Advised to use the bridge by local cyclists, as the bottom of the ford is very slippy.
