Can be muddy in places if it has rained a few days earlier.

The trial are intermediate, yet at the same time great scenery and also the little ones can go for a rip at the park oh also check out their cafe 👌🏾🫶🏽

If heading north your about to hit a muddy section of tow path, it’s passable with care is heading south you’ll be glad it’s over lol

A great place to visit and wide veiws

As you walk along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, you'll be treated to magnificent views that encompass the reservoir, charming narrow boats, and the picturesque countryside that surrounds you.

Upper Bittell Reservoir covers approximately 40 acres and is the larger of the two Bittell Reservoirs. The reservoir was created in the late 19th century to provide drinking water to the city of Birmingham. It was constructed by damming the Bittell Brook. It is an excellent place for hiking and picnicking, with designated picnic areas where visitors can enjoy a meal while taking in the serene waterside atmosphere.

A designated space crafted specifically for individuals to hone their den-building skills using the readily available logs and branches—a brilliant concept that offers a dedicated area for this creative activity. It's an ideal playground where children can delight in hours of imaginative play.

The Lickey Hills visitor centre includes an information centre, toilets, café and shop. It's a good place to start or finish a run with a coffee on the terrace.

The Four Stones were erected by Lord Lyttelton of Hagley Hall in the 18th century. Brilliant views over nearby Walton Hill and further towards the Cotswolds, Shropshire Hills and the Welsh Borders.

I'm lucky enough to live a short walk from the Lickeys. Another option, from the path leading out of the car park, is to take a left down to the Barnt Green road, cross the road and join the North Worcestershire Path around the two Bittel reservoirs. You could even then jump onto the Worcester Canal, walk along the towpath and through Barnt Green back to the Lickeys Country Park. Spoilt for choice!

Lickey Hills Visitor Centre has a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating that serves snacks. You can also find information here and pick up maps to explore the country park. There are facilities, too.

The Four Stones is a striking monument at the top of the Clent Hills. While they look prehistoric, they were erected around 1763 at the behest of an eccentric landowner. Nevertheless, the characterful stones are supposedly aligned with the solstice sunset and offer a magnificent view at all times of the year.

Lots of free parking but does get busy so get there early
