This isn't a pond, but a watering place. Horses used to be washed here after work. The entrance was on one side, the exit on the other. Now it's completely enclosed and serves as a habitat for fish and ducks.

In 1546, the house came into the possession of the iron merchant Augustinus Resch. Whether the house was painted using the sgraffito technique during his lifetime or under his son-in-law is unclear. According to relevant sources, this is one of the most beautiful cellar lanes in the entire Westviertel. And indeed, the uniformly whitewashed and well-maintained wine cellars are extremely attractive. I can only imagine how cozy it must be if you arrive late in the afternoon and are fully stocked.
