The grain silo of Reinfeld's Claudius Mill was built here in the 1970s. In 1996, the Johannes Ströh company ceased mill operations in Reinfeld. The original plan for the railway crossing called for the silo to be demolished. Apparently, the plan was to cut costs and route the road in a conspicuous arc around the old structure. Bats and mobile phone operators will be pleased, but demolition at some point in the future will now be far more costly. Just as Lübeck's skyline is dominated by its seven distinctive church steeples, the Reinfeld skyline will continue to be dominated by the three concrete blocks, all built in the 1970s.

The moor pond near Heilshoop is a beautiful place to breathe and enjoy. Surrounded by moorland and ancient trees, it offers a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a break on your hike. Especially on sunny days, the sky and clouds are beautifully reflected in the water—a true nature experience.
