Took it the picture on a frosty day. I thought of the poem by John Keats; Eve of St Agnes (which is actually in January). Full of potholes showing a government that doesn't believe in road maintenance.

Brant Broughton for such a small village has some interesting examples of varied christian worship. The Church of St Helen is an amazing building outside and in for a village. John Betjetman call the St John the Baptist Church at East Markham the cathedral of the the Trent Valley. In my opinion this rivals it. The village also has a large Methodist Chapel for, again, a small village. It also has a Quaker Meeting House, which I find surprising; I took quakerism to be the thinking working class philosophy not country folk. Marx called country people "useless sacks of potatoes" because of their inability to think past the next hedge row. It also has a "National School", which again I am surprised.

A great stopping off place fun of history and beautiful sights. Lincoln Cathedral, built of Lincolnshire limestone, was finally consecrated by Remigius de Fécamp, the first Bishop of Lincoln, on May 9th in 1092. In 1916 the first ever tanks were designed and built in Lincoln, giving the city the nicknamed 'Tank Town'. These machines were paraded through the city before going to war and significantly shortened the First World War, preventing many more casualties. Lovely food and drink at the Royal Oak,and the weir at Auborn was beautifull,unfortunately I took a picture but it’s in my phone pics and not on Komoot,a lovely bikeride

Lovely little spot to take a minute or two while you listen to the water running through the rocks. Cross via the ford if you dare (riding buddies will want to be ready with the camera) as very rocky and often deep, I'd strongly recommend the bridge.
