this is a bridge to nowhere but is a great place for a stop, and also a good start point for paddle boarders, canoes, wild swimmers, fishing etc

This observation tower is named the 'Boston Pendulum' and was designed by the Belgian architect Paul Robbrecht. It is one of two towers on the Water Rail Way designed by Robbrecht. The other is positioned at the Lincoln end of the trail and is titled 'Lincoln Stump'. It is an interesting place to stop and take a look at the surrounding countryside.

The Water Rail Way route follows the River Witham from Lincoln to Boston. This traffic-free section runs from Langrick Bridge to Boston town centre. It's part of National Cycle Network Route 1 and features some interesting sculptures along the way.

It feels remote even though there is a car park next to it. The view from the table is of open fen with the faint line of the Wolds on the distant horizon.

Boston Lock is a tidal lock between the River Witham and The Haven. It also hosts a great cafe, for a pre-run coffee and post-run refuel.
