You should pay the fee to visit. Plenty of signs and information to get here but no mention of a fee. £1 per person, £1 per car, 50p per child.... at this point we stopped reading as we don't carry cash. Woman came from the house to make sure we didn't slip in. Fully understand that it's private land and you have to pay to enjoy it. Just wish we'd known before we set off.

Swallow Falls is one of the highest continuous waterfalls in Wales. A true outdoor lovers' mecca, Betws-y-Coed is a great gateway to Snowdonia National Park. Anyone who has driven into Snowdonia on the A5 will have noted its picturesque setting, its alpine character and its numerous gear shops, cafes, hotels and B&Bs. Betws-y-Coed is surrounded by the gorgeous Gwydyr Forest, which boasts a variety of trails. Moel Siabod is prominent from many points in the village and it is only a short drive to starting points for Snowdon and the Glyderau.

The Fairy Glen is a picturesque, secluded gorge not far from the popular village of Betws-y-Coed. It is named for the mythical sprites that are said to live there and is one of several UK beauty spots that share this title. The site is looked after by local people and there is an honesty box near the entrance gate, which suggests a small donation.

Running through the deep gorge of the Fairy Glen, Conwy Falls is an incredibly scenic waterfall. It cascades through a number of segmented drops totalling (50 feet) 15 m into a deep pool. The surrounding woodland is rich in wildlife, including polecats and around 30 bird species. The area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. The falls are host to an excellent cafe. Built in the 1950s, it was designed by Sir William Clough Ellis of Portmeirion fame.

The bridge is collapsed, for now there is no way to get across (August 2020).
