Scenic bridge providing a quiet route over the Welland into Deeping.

Bakery just across the road who sell nice pasties, tea and coffee. Pub on the other corner with toilets and good beer. Worth a rest stop. Busy little village and cross roads.

There are 2 pubs near the bridge and a couple of cafes in village centre within 1/4 mile. Get a coffee and sit by the river for a good rest stop.

The North Brink Brewery was built in 1795 and bought by the Elgood family in 1878. It was extensively renovated in a Georgian style and first classic Georgian Breweries to be built outside London. An escape from the town centre, Wisbech Park, established in 1869, is a classic Victorian park that has been a welcoming destination for visitors for over a century. With a blend of pathways, neatly trimmed privet hedges, and pockets of woodland, this location provides an excellent setting for a run amid diverse surroundings.

It has a rich history dating back to 1795, making it one of the oldest family-owned breweries in the United Kingdom. Elgood's is well-known for its traditional brewing methods and a wide range of beers, including ales and speciality brews.

Despite the name there’s no gravel at all, it’s all tarmac.

Interesting building, with a church built into the ruined remains of the older abbey that was dissolved by Henry VIII.

Shows how much the fens have been re-engineered that the river this bridge once spanned is now over a kilometre away!

Unsurprisingly, most of the nearby pubs stock this stuff.

Traditional tea room serving freshly prepared food, with a little garden hidden out the back as well.

Grand landmark overlooking the riverside as you come into town.

Wisbech has really suffered lately. The town centre is a sea of empty or down at heel shops. Shame, as some of the local buildings show how grand this place used to be.

Nice quiet route avoiding busier roads, if you don’t mind the usual uneven minor road surface.

Very nice cafe/deli open 7 days a week but be aware that the cafe closes earlier than the farm shop - 3.30pm each day.

In over 100km through the fens this road bridge over the A47 was the biggest incline I encountered. Take what you can get!
