If your planning to take a short brake on your tour then this is the perfect spot, you might be greated by a swan or even a sea lion. I would stay away from that lane as people driving to Rectory Farm don't seem to be familiar with single track roads or can't be bothered to slow down while overtaking.

Very nice area for walking, cycling and all sorts of outdoor activities, but it might get flooded in the winter and sometimes spring as well so check the water levels right before you leave, I would avoid it when 2.00 or more. check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/6286

Beautiful view over the river, can be flooded on average 2 days per week in the flood season ( end of September to mid April) need to check riverlevels.uk (Stanground Sluice) right before leave, saved mine on the home screen for easy access.

Better to cycle into the city centre and visit the cathedral. It's worth a look; Katherine of Aragon's tomb here, and later Mary Queen of Scots was buried after her beheading at nearby Fotheringhay (also featured on Komoot).
