A very nice, quiet cycle path. However, it's very narrow, so you have to be careful when there's oncoming traffic.

The Nesse Valley Cycle Route begins in Erfurt, where the Nesse River rises in Alach, and ends in Eisenach. This beautiful cycle route runs partly along an old railway embankment. A total of approximately 70 km along the Nesse River.

The district of Friedrichsdorf was founded in 1780 as a small colony by the agricultural inspector Neithardt von Gneisenau on the orders of the Archbishop of Mainz and sovereign Friedrich Karl Joseph von Erthal.

Only a few churches reveal their age from the outside. In Tiefthal, however, a stone building inscription states that the tower was started in 1469 by Hans Weise and Thomas Rose ("do hans wise and thomas rose buwemeister worn"). The tower was probably added to an even older church at that time. The current nave - a hall church with a three-sided choir - was added to the tower, offset to the north and east. According to another inscription on the south wall of the church, "the current building was started in the year of our Lord 1510 on the Sunday after the Feast of the Finding of the Cross". In the eastern part of the nave, two steps higher, there is still an altar, which probably dates from the Gothic period. It already had its place in the previous church, as it once had a winged picture from 1410 as an altarpiece. Of this once three-winged picture, only the middle one with a crucifixion motif remains today. It has been on permanent loan from the Tiefthal parish in the Angermuseum in Erfurt since 1924. The current high altar from the workshop of the sculptor Andreas Bessert (Groß-Rettbach) was built in its place in 1737. The organ in neoclassical style, which was extensively restored in 2005, is a late work by Friedrich Ladegast (1818-1906). The Weißenfels organ builder is considered the most important organ builder of the 19th century - comparable to Gottfried Silbermann in the Baroque period.
