Given a refresh in 2024, All Saints Park is a gorgeous green space on the Oxford Road Corridor. Expect students from Manchester Met to be relaxing between lectures, perhaps enjoying a takeaway coffee from one of the nearby cafes.

The Hilton Hotel on Deansgate is worthy of a visit (and a stay if you have the time). On the upper floors, the views across the city are fantastic.

Lindow Common is a small area of heathland on the outskirts of Wilmslow. It might be small, but it is special in a number of ways: it is a Local Nature Reserve, well worth a visit if passing through. I captured an Owl 🦉 and her baby when I was there. She was showing the baby how to hunt.

The opening day of this year's race will start in Altrincham, adjacent to its thriving market that is home to independent street food vendors aplenty. King of the Mountains climbs come at the legendary Rake in Ramsbottom (a three-time host of the British Hill-Climb Championships) and Grains Bar

Turn right just before the bridge, and you will head along a cobbled Street taking you straight to the Canal path. And lots of nice bars and restaurants on the Canal docs.

This is such a great crossroads to get to so many places around Manchester, including Dean, skate locks and canal paths for cycling

Hare Hill A tranquil wooded garden, surrounded by historic parkland, with a delightful walled garden at its heart

A beautifully presented brick built, multi-room Victorian pub on the south side of town. The tenancy its lovingly run by Paul and Paula Johnson. A proper pub with real fires, small unobtrusive TVs and a classic soundtrack from the 60's, 70's & the 80's. There isn't a pool table nor slot machines.. 4 beer wickets serving Unicorn and a rotation Brakspear Bitter, Marstons EPA and Lancaster Bomber then various guests Good value, freshly cooked food served lunchtime, evenings and weekends
