It's a nice little hike, but the last few kilometers, after you have to turn right one last time for a longer stretch, the 'path' is completely overgrown...and you also have to 'avoid' a huge, fallen treetop...

This section of the trail is paved with slabs. The northeast section has slightly curved (S-shaped) slabs that are quite comfortable to ride on with fat tires. The southwest section has rectangular slabs with three holes (points of contact for laying the tires). This is quite unpleasant, as you can't avoid all the holes!

Anyone approaching Lake Hohennauen on two wheels will be rewarded halfway – with a bridge that is more than just a crossing. The view from here is far-reaching: Lake Ferchesar shimmers to the left, Lake Hohennauen stretches out to the right, and in the middle, Lake Semliner stretches long and blue through the landscape. The bridge itself is comfortable: structurally separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians – that's almost a luxury in Brandenburg. Below, water lilies lap against old pilings, above, boats glide by like mobile viewing platforms. If you pause here for a moment, you'll see what defines the region: expanse, water, wind – and a soothing silence that doesn't have to be loud to make an impression.

Paulinenaue station is a through station in the municipality of Paulinenaue in the Havelland district. It was opened on the Berlin-Hamburg Railway in 1846. Over the next decades, the town developed into a junction. In 1880, a line from Paulinenaue to Neuruppin was opened, and in 1901, a narrow-gauge line of the Rathenow-Senzke-Nauen District Railway was added. Operations on this line ceased in 1924. Passenger service to Neuruppin was discontinued in 1970, and the line was closed in the mid-1990s. The station building is a listed building. (Source: Wikipedia)
