The Olive Branch is a small village pub in Rutland, England’s smallest county. In 2021, this upmarket pub was awarded UK Pub of the Year, according to the Good Pub Guide 2021.

Part of a local clubs time trial course. The Bull Climb is an enjoyable climb, made better by a decent surface. The village shop at the top serves good sandwiches and cakes too, with a bench opposite for a picnic seat. A great place to reward yourself for the effort.

A lovely lane this, heading away from the noise of the A1. To the north of this Pickworth road is Woolfox golf club and the remains of RAF Woolfox airbase. In later WWII this was a significant base for bombers and in the cold-war period was the home to Bloodhound missiles. Older readers will remember seeing these when passing on the A1. All quiet and peaceful now.

Little stretch of road with cattle grids at either end. Sheep roam freely here. Red kites can be spotted here as well.
