Nice straight Fen Road, Tongue End is a important area in the history of ice skating ⛸ in this area of the drains in years gone by.

The road gains a few metres of elevation as it crosses the River Glen, which is all it needs to look miles across the fen towards the low hills that rise beyond Bourne.

Arrow-straight and virtually empty level road past the flooded pits and quarries that now form a series of lakes. Great route for a pace line.

Bakery just across the road who sell nice pasties, tea and coffee. Pub on the other corner with toilets and good beer. Worth a rest stop. Busy little village and cross roads.

Beautiful Abbey (called an Abbey but actually a now a Parish Church) in the heart of Crowland. Originally founded in the early in the eighth century the Abbey has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. It's open to visitors every day from 8.30am until 4pm.

Well packed trail. Bit of a dead end but can have some fun in the dense woods and the end. Watch out for the electric fence in the woods!
