A beautiful Minster, worth a look around

A secluded and well surfaced lane, mostly pea grit and good for most bikes.

Traffic-free connection between Castle Rising and Sandringham, with nice views across the pastures by the Babingley River to Wolferton Wood.

Quiet, scenic driveway twisting through the woods of the Sandringham Estate, wide and easy to ride.

The King's English country estate is a huge and impressive area of woods and parkland, with shaded roads and scenic views aplenty.

The most impressive remaining piece of King’s Lynns ancient fortifications, which you still pass through when entering the town from the south.

St Mark's Church is almost a copy of Christ Church church at Gedney Dawsmere 4 miles to the east. It's constructed of red brick with stone bands, a brick-faced interior, lancet windows, and a combined nave and apse.

Christchurch is a Grade II listed building made from yellow and red brick. It's a unique looking church built in 1869 set in the remote hamlet of Gedney Dawsmere, close to The Wash.

Frampton Marsh features a variety of freshwater habitats and provides close views of the rich birdlife of The Wash. Look out for avocets, redshanks, skylarks and whimbrels in summer. In the winter you'll see thousands of ducks gathering on the freshwater scrapes. This area is one of Europe's most important places for wildlife.

Nice and quiet but I'd hoped there would be gravel tracks like at Holkam

Mostly hidden from the road by hedging. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Or it could just be a water tower.

A small visitor centre providing light refreshments and toilets to the public. The visitor centre charges £3 entry for those wishing to explore the reserve for the day, and parking is included in this small fee.

Fantastic straight isolated open road leading to the River Nene.

Mouth of the River Nene, known as Tycho Wing’s Channel. From here a quiet road and track takes you to Sutton Bridge.

King's Lynn packs so much history in! The town’s heritage is reflected in an amazing array of historic buildings and at two magnificent market places. The Minster was founded in 1095 as a Benedictine Priory, the church was rebuilt in the 13th century and has been modified through the years. The ornate Town Hall dates back to 1421 and fine old merchants’ houses stretch down to the river between cobbled lanes and the elegant Custom House overlooking the harbour.

Marriott’s Warehouse on South Quay was built as a Tudor warehouse, around the 1580s by one of East Anglia’s wealthiest corn and sail merchants, Thomas Claybourne. Until the 1830s the building was actually on the riverbank, then engineering works took place to straighten the course of the river, creating a new sand bank, which subsequently led to the formation of South Quay.

Sandringham Estate was famously the Queen's favourite country retreat. Surrounded by 20,000 acres of gardens, parks and woodland, the estate is a beautiful stretch of NCN National Route 1. Practical matters: If you're intending to stay and have a longer look around, there is limited bike parking in the Courtyard near the ticket office. Bicycles are not permitted in the Gardens, however cycling in the Royal Park is welcomed. You will need to carry everything with you as there are no lockers / luggage storage facilities.
