Lovingly maintained half-timbered houses stand protectively around the square, and in the center, the Lion Fountain with its golden, two-tailed lion catches your eye. There are a wide variety of dining options here, and you'll be spoiled for choice.

This beautiful retrospective illustrates the architecturally outstanding layout of the castle and the old town nestled on a prominent hill above the valley of the Great Nister and therefore certainly has been an important spot that has been "taken over" since ancient times.
