Holkham village, home to the magnificent Holkham Hall, is a must-visit if in this particular area of the Norfolk Coast. The village is home to a small, but satisfying, selection of beautiful shops selling clothes, artisan goods, local foods, beer and wine.

The Lookout café is perfectly situated on the edge of the beach. The menu is designed with local produce and minimal waste. Grab a hot drink, cake, snack or light bite and sit back to watch the birds from the café window.

The views across the salt marshes and of the moored boats make for a incredibly pretty running route that's also nice and flat.

An 18th century stately home, Holkham Hall is set in beautiful grounds which are free to visit. When the house was built the estate was an empty space but the planting of a multitude of trees has created the woodland park you can see today. Very pretty, with views of moored boats and across the salt marsh. Not much parking, especially at high tide and if you don't arrive first thing.

Nudist beach after these dunes in the picture, so don't be surprised to see naked people swimming and sunbathing. Some beautiful flowers and coastal wildlife also here to see that have been carefully conserved.
