There's a pleasant riverside rest spot just next to the bridge on the east bank, overlooking a pool in the river between the bridge and a small weir.

Gives you a brief glimpse of the river which otherwise is obscured by the hedgerows and roadside plants.

Elmham Mill on the banks of the River Wensum in mid Norfolk. Not open to public but very beauiful to see whilst on a walk. Great view from the bridge of the river.

Take a big breath

When I visited on a sunny April day, the river here was full of a couple of families paddleboarding and swimming, looked like a nice wild swimming spot. There's a good clearing by the bank to set up on or take a rest too.

The middle of an industrial estate isn't the most obvious destination - but the team at Tri Harder UK are friendly and helpful and the coffee and cake at the Iron Horse are well worth going a little out of your way.

always good to find a Castle, just pick a different route than the one to cycled.
