This place is a good stop for a meal. I remember it just over 40 years ago before it was connected to electricity grid when the lighting was by oil lamp! The food was still good in those days.

Great customer service and lovely food, they do a great breakfast 😋

The kitchen typically closes at hour before the cafe does so get here in plenty of time if you want to order food.

Quintessential traditional country pub, in a lovely village setting with a nice pub garden behind and some more seating to the front.

A hidden cycle-friendly venue! Fronts directly on to the high street but there is space for bikes at the back. Open 10am-4.30pm Mon-Sat.

The more scenic alternative to the modern road bridge on the adjacent B1062. A popular swim and picnic spot in the summer.

Excellent artisan coffee and tasty cakes. Cycle-friendly, with open level access and outdoor seating. The cycle rail is a bit high off the ground though: my bike was swinging in the wind!

Enclosed outdoor space with picnic benches facing the river (admittedly across a road & fenced yard). Be careful with the polished floor inside in your cleats, but a great range of food as well as cakes and pastries. Open 9am-3pm every day.

Nice views of the cruisers on the Waveney although the road pinches as it crosses the bridge so you can't stop to admire them.

Seating out the front is handy if you're stopping. Great pizzas. Open Wednesday-Sunday from 10am (12pm on Sunday).

For a view of the castle turn up Castle Hill lane off the main village road to reach the car park. The castle itself is best accessed without road cleats on.
