Extraordinarily good property, worth a day trip

Marriott's Way is a 26-mile (42km) surfaced multi-user path which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, running between Aylsham and Norwich.

Perfect spot for an iced coffee and piece of cake. Nice shaded seating areas.

The churchyard in Reepham is actually the home to three churches. St Michael & St Mary, which were once separate parish churches, have been joined together. St Michael's became the church hall while worship continues in St Mary's. The ruins of All Saints, which was supposedly ravaged by fire in 1543, is in the south west corner. Some say it was demolished by protestants after the reformation, given the date it occured.

The area surrounding this bridge is very wet, so it might be advisable to steer clear in winter or during wet times

Blickling Hall Estate has a superb gravel track around two thirds of the perimeter, though watch out for horses and walkers. The Route 33 also passes through the centre of the estate passing the front of the hall.

If you want to visit Blickling Hall a road bike is probably not the best method of transport - or at least make sure you have a change of shoes! But if you're cycling in the Aylsham area this road gives you the best view of Blickling Hall.

The church consists of a tall west tower, nave, north and south aisles, north and south transepts, chancel and south porch. The earliest parts are the chancel and north transept, which are from about 1300. The rest of the building is late 14th and early 15th century, and was built by Sir Michael De La Pole, first Earl of Suffolk, and his wife Catherine (except the north aisle, built by Robert Oxburgh). Construction is of flint, except the tower, which is faced in freestone. There are interesting gargoyles below the parapets. Inside is a hammerbeam roof to the nave with carved angels, a 15th century rood screen with original painted panels, medieval stained glass, poppy-headed benches, a 15th century pulpit and a medieval alms box.

Whitwell and Reepham station was an active station from 1882 until 1959 when it was used by the Midland and Great Northern Railway line. Today, the station lies on the popular Marriotts Way traffic-free path which traces the old railway line. Handy stop on Marriotts Way for toilets, coffee, beer and food.

Useful stop on NCN1 of the Marriotts Way about 14 miles from Norwich and half way to Aylsham, light refreshments and food, lots of outside seating where you can sit and watch the team restore trains and carriages and moving them around the sidings. Places to lock up bikes.

Great place to stop/aim for on Marriotts Way as part of a ride, lots of outside seating, chance to look round museum, decent bar and food at reasonable prices.
