Gainsborough Town is full of history and definitely worth stopping off at if you have the time. More info about the town: https://www.discovergainsborough.com/visit/ We didn't see the town on this trip and didn't want to go into the town centre so The Trent Port was a great lunch stop for us. Right on our route and food ok. And if like us you find you have a flat tyre, there is plenty of room to fix it.

nice road next to the river trent, if you want to see it you have to stop and climb up a steep nettle lined bank. Lots of pubs with riverside beer gardens though!

Lots of places for a picnic, although there isnt much of a view while riding. there are steep embankments next to the river. Presumable to stop flooding.

I cycled all the way here from sheffield to take in some of the delightful forrest trails, but i had a slow puncture that wouldnt seal on my tubless set up so i stuck to the road. As i was flying through i could see there was an extensive trail network which is crying out to be explored.

Oldest working million England. Open to public most days. Great views from top. Can buy flour and homemade honey worth a visit.

Julian's Bower or Julian Bower is a name which was given to turf mazes in several different parts of England. Only one of this name still exists, at Alkborough in North Lincolnshire. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian%27s_Bower Alkborough flats is where the River Humber and Ouse join to form the Humber, very scenic and full of wildlife - worth a visit. http://www.visitnorthlincolnshire.com/item/alkborough-flats/
