Only open since October 2024 this family run Farm shop is relatively new it is however perfectly situated on the quiet lanes used by many many cyclists between Bawtry and Misterton. All local produce and home made. Great seating area outside on the drive that's a natural sun trap. This area has desperately needed a good place where we cyclists can stop off and get some wholesome refreshments. Low Lane Swing Bridge is a minor waterways place on the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation (New Junction Canal) between Sykehouse Lift Bridge (Sykehouse village is about a mile to the east.) One of the few bridges that goes over the river Don. The tranquility of the river is quite beguiling but be careful as there is no footpath going over the bridge.

Lying within the parish of Cantley-with-Branton, Black Carr Plantation is a 20 hectare woodland largely created two hundred years ago as part of a 7000 acre estate. Ghost hunters will be interested to know that the plantation was once known locally as Wailing Wood. The name is linked with a tale still told by local people of a carriage which overturned in fog on Warning Tongue Lane many years ago. Several travellers were killed. One of the dead - a woman - is said to haunt the woodland on foggy nights, even to this day.

The Stainforth and Keadby Canal links the river Don near Bramwith to the River Trent at Keadby. It was authorised by an Act of Parliament in 1793 and eventually opened in 1802. There are only three locks on the canal, one at each end and this one at Thorne.

Rawcliffe Bridge is a small hamlet adjacent to the Aire and Calder Navigation. From the vantage point of the bridge you can see along the length of the canal and the marina to the north east. To the south-west of the village is the Sugar Mill Ponds, which can be accessed down Stocks Drive. Until recently these two clay pits for the local brickworks were a waste site. Now it is a peaceful wildlife haven and a lovely place to stop and catch your breath.

The Isle of Axholme Greenway runs between Scunthorpe in the east and Thorne in the west and is 22.4km long in its entirety. The route uses existing industrial infrastructure such as here where it runs next to the canal.
