The bridge was the original approach to Clumber Park prior to the development of the famous lime tree avenue. It dates from the 18th Century and crosses an ornamental lake that was created by the damming of the River Poulter.

Beautiful park full of woodland trails and a serpentine lake, lots to see and explore with a historical chapel and ornamental bridge, cycle hire available too in the park.

The very old Stone Bridge over the river Idle just outside Eaton. A lovely place to stop and have a minute. There are walking trails along the river back to Ordsall. It's very picturesque and quiet at this spot.

The Grade-I listed bridge over the River Poulter was believed to have been built in the 1760s. The bridge is now closed to vehicles due to a car deliberately driven into it in 2018.

A 200 year old bridge with great views of Clumber Park and River Poulter. The bridge was vandalised in 2018 but has been wonderfully restored to its former glory.

The Old School tea room near the National Trust managed Clumber Park is a good stop point with plenty of outdoor space and a simple menu of soup, sandwiches, pie and afternoon tea as well as drinks and cake. Open Tue to Sun 10:00 - 16:00.

Gapsick Lane runs from the A616 near Clowne in the south up to a high point of about 141m. It then drops slightly to the cross roads with the A619 on Whitwell Common. This highlight continues along Gipsyhill Lane to the edge of Bondhay Common. The road is quiet and the views across farmland and down to the nearby towns are nice.

This ornamental bridge over the River Poulter is over 200 years old. In 2018 vandals damaged it severely but the restoration has been completed and it's looking amazing! Great views up onto Clumber Lake and across the surrounding parkland.

Clumber Park was once the home of the Duke of Newcastle but the mansion was demolished in 1938. It's now a beautiful estate of parkland, heath, woods and the lake. It's now managed by the National Trust. The parkland is free to access but there are paid entry or members areas. NT cafes, ice cream van and shop on site. There are also over 20miles of traffic free cycle ways on the estate, most are better suited for a mountain or touring bike but they are flat and not technical so if you don't mind getting a bit muddy...

Miles of relatively traffic-free roads to explore this leafy parkland. A great place to picnic on a warm summer day, but a lovely quiet area at any time of year.
