11월 20, 2024, Killamarsh Central Station (Disused)
Opened in 1892 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, Killamarsh Central had two platforms, each with a timber building and a large canopy. The station closed to the public in 1963 when local services on the Great Central were discontinued. The platforms and sidings remained in use for goods traffic until 1965.

Lovely section on rough tracks and lanes, I’d come back to explore more around here and Wellbeck Abbey next time. Avoid the last bit of my route on the main road back to Pleasley after this section, just I was running out of time.

The Old School tea room near the National Trust managed Clumber Park is a good stop point with plenty of outdoor space and a simple menu of soup, sandwiches, pie and afternoon tea as well as drinks and cake. Open Tue to Sun 10:00 - 16:00.
