12월 18, 2025, Canalside Heritage Centre at Beeston Lock
The Canal side Heritage Centre also has a nice tea room with a garden and nice clean toilets. Over the canal next to the Marina Chandlery is another cafe and a licensed bar. On street parking is available behind the Marina. Beeston Railway Station is only a couple of minutes bike ride away.

The present day church consists of a medieval chancel with north vestry (now housing an organ) and south wall chancel door, clerestoried nave, north and south aisles, south porch, west tower and spire, and west-end vestries and galilee added in the 20th century. It is set within a conventional churchyard that is walled and gated on Church Lane (north side). A chapel is said to have existed on the banks of the River Trent at Attenborough n 964 AD and was overbuilt with the stone chancel of the present day church.

7월 25, 2023, Highfields Lake, University Park
Highfields Park was part of an estate built and landscaped in the late 18th and early 19th century. In 1920 Sir J Boot bought the estate and used it as the site of the East Midlands University (now Nottingham University). Highfileds House became part of the university and is currently used as a staff annexe. The landscape was re-modelled to suit the setting, with the joining of the fishing pond and small boating lake to become the larger lake we see today. The public can walk around Highfields Park. The circuit of the lake is a nice, gentle walk within the city.

Great park for a jog- good paved paths, and rougher tracks to choose from, nice views, easy access.

Do ensure when you visit the nature reserve you take this route up to the church. Brilliant spot in fron of the church where when the water is still you can get a cracking mirror image photo in the lake.

4월 3, 2021, Canalside Heritage Centre at Beeston Lock
The historic weir cottages at Beeston Lock were once the family homes of people who made their living on the canal. They were occupied for two hundred years but unfortunately, after the last family moved out in the 1990s, were left abandoned and derelict. Established by a group of dedicated local people, passionate about telling the story of the waterways, the aim of the Canalside Heritage Centre Charitable Trust has been to renovate and restore the weir cottages at Beeston Lock into sustainable use as a heritage, education and arts centre for all. Thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Canal & River Trust and other partners and volunteers, the cottages were sensitively renovated and the Heritage Centre was successfully opened to the public in June 2017.
