The Lauseeiche, intersection of the districts of Hoheneiche, Bischhausen and Wichmannshausen (Mitterrode is also far away), is always worth a visit.

Take a break right on the 478-meter-high summit of Hundsrück. Unfortunately, there's no view from here.

The viewpoint has become so overgrown that the view is unfortunately no longer very pleasant. You can still see the town of Reichensachsen and the new motorway bridge, but that's about it. At least there's a nice rest area there, and the wonderful, rustic beech forests are especially worth a visit.

A well-marked junction of Premium Hiking Trail 19. Here, the trail leads from a sunny and scenic meadow path onto a narrow forest path to the Wichtelbrunnen fountain. The wayside stone with the arrows and inscriptions "Hundsrück" and "Wichtelbrunnen" is very photogenic.

A rest area that has been created with a lot of passion, with table decorations and beautiful outdoor facilities. The rest area is located on a mountain path (Elisabethpfad) and from here you can see the Boyneburg if the visibility is good.

For around three decades, the Wichmannshausen parish, which includes the communities of Wichmannshausen, Hoheneiche and Mitterode, has been celebrating a "church service in the open air" at the Lauseeiche on the first Sunday in July. This event is accompanied by a singing club, a brass band or a flute group.
