A hidden cycle-friendly venue! Fronts directly on to the high street but there is space for bikes at the back. Open 10am-4.30pm Mon-Sat.

This bird hide is located on a spit of land that juts out into Whitlingham Great Broad. It allows you to stop and watch for the many species that inhabit the country park. Birds that you might see include swifts, herons, cormorants and kingfishers.

Occupying an enviable spot on Rockland Staithe, the New Inn is a traditional country pub. It serves great food and drink, perfect for a refuel after exploring Rockland Broad and the trails along the River Yare. The 38-mile (61 km) Wherryman's Way long-distance trail passes right by the door too.

Benches by the ponds for a rest and a picnic.

Presently closed and premises are up for sale. Hopefully it'll be purchased by someone who wants to re-open a cafe.

There's a smooth and peaceful road parallel to the shoreline, away from the pedestrians on a separate waterside path.
