This footpath runs on the disused trackbed of the old York to Beverley railway line. It's named after George Hudson, an important figure in the development of railways in the 19th century. The railway was in use between the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries, but due to changing transportation trends the railway closed down, much like many other railway lines in the country. Today, the old railway is a shared-use footpath that provides a scenic walk through pleasant Yorkshire Wolds farmland.

This peaceful riverside path runs along the west bank of the river Hull and just a short distance east of the Beverly Drain. The path is raised so stays clear of the wet flood plain in most weather, but it can get quite muddy. Lots of birds and wildlife to spot.

The lake is a wonderful sight as you come down the hill on a sunny morning.

A real beauty, the Hornsea Mere is a popular spot for bird watchers. There's a centre and a cafe where you can find all the information about is also a huge variety of crane flies and the like. Take a rowing boat or a fishing boat out, or just park up, enjoy the view and go into the cafe, which is open Weds–Sun 10–16.00.
