Cracking cafe in the middle of Brackley, set in - you guessed it - an old fire station. Good coffee, bike spaces and friendly staff.

A very nice stretch of road to ride your push bike on. Whether you're doing efforts, or just riding for the scenery, it's nice and quiet.

The village of Syresham is surrounded by pockets of ancient woodland, which were once royal hunting grounds. There are plenty of fine trails through these woods and forests. Whistley Wood and the larger Hazelborough are nearby, though the latter may be a tad noisy on the weekend of the English Grand Prix, due to neighbouring Silverstone. The village is the start point for the Ouse Valley Way, which follows the River Great Ouse from its source near the village to the Wash at King's Lynn. Officially, the start point is outside the Kings Head Inn, which is also a good place to stay. There's also Priory B&B in the north of the village.

Beautifully ornate gated entrance to the Canons Ashby gardens can be seen from just past the main car park entrance.

Quiet Northamptonshire village with a central green next to an imposing church. Pleasant place to sit and have lunch.

Some excellent roads to cycle in either direction.

Quiet back lane on the edge of Culworth. It is tarmac but has quite a few potholes and some mud and gravel on the road as it isn't used much.

Worth the detour for some crackin’ food. Impt note you can’t wear cleats inside and bikes must be kept outdoors.
