"Don't miss Cheltenham's most iconic Regency feature; The Caryatids in Montpellier. These 'armless ladies' are a type of column which support the architectural facades of the chic boutiques in Montpellier Walk. Dating from 1840 they are loosely based on classical models on the Acropolis in Athens and are a form of decoration used extensively in 19th century France. There are 32 Caryatids in total, two were originally sculpted in terracotta by a London artist called Rossi and the remainder were copied by a local Cheltenham man." "Montpellier Gardens lie close to the town centre and are an important part of Cheltenham's regency landscape. The gardens can be split into two recreational zones. Most of the park facilities are in the southern section and includes tennis courts, a café, toddlers’ play area and toilets. You’ll also find a community art gallery, Gardens Gallery which exhibits local artists’ work for the public. Great place to stop for coffee and snacks before or after your run. Park Run is on every Saturday at 9am from Pitteville Park so you can head for a post run drink at the Boat House Cafe.

A nice cafe by the lake with lots of seating outside and some inside. Selling coffee and apparently the ice cream is great in summer!

Great park for running round with a nice path and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view. This is also where the weekly 5k park run takes place every Saturday

A great cycleway through the very beautiful Pittville Park... lots of pedestrians and dogs to avoid, but a great way to go and an even better place to plan as a spot to take a break.

A great cycleway that works well with the other cycleways in Cheltenham... especially the one through Pittville Park.

Great mixed use route away from traffic. Used by lots of commuters and dog walkers so if on a bike please be aware of speed.

Make sure you visit Painswick Beacon, another great spot for a picnic and views.
