Colyford Filling Station, built in 1927-8 to the designs of Frederick Kett. Grade II listed building.

A mile-long beach with a mix of sand and shingle, clear water, and a gently sloping shore. It's a great place for swimming, water sports, and walking. Brilliant stretch of canal path that leads out to Dawlish, the surface is great in most areas and any bike should be able to get around this path. However if you have a accessibility trike there are some narrow sections and bridge that might make this path very difficult to use.

The marshy flats at this section of the Ex are natural sanctuary for birds and there are duckboards and bird watching spots along the route.

This is the Railway stop for the barracks opposite and is along the cycle way from Exeter to Exmouth, beautiful surfaces to ride on here so any bike can make the trip between the town and the coast.

A nice place to stop if you have done the ride from Exeter, sandy of course so not much chance of cycling along the beach!

To avoid paying parking charges at Manor Rd car park, head along the Esplanade, up Peak hill to Mutter Moor car park.

Tough long climb but great fun

Great pub to stop off for a drink or a bite to eat. Good food, beers and also good coffee. Nice people and what looks like an amazing garden for in the summer, but indoors is also nice and cosy if it's cold.

Jacob's Ladder is one of Sidmouth's two large beaches. An expanse of sand and shingle, the beach gets its name from the series of wooden steps that lead down from Connaught Gardens. Whilst the beach can be accessed via the steps it is also possible to walk around from the town's main beach via a level path. At the top of the step system there is a cafe leading to the gardens, this can be a good place to visit after a coastal run

Cockwood Harbour is a small tidal harbour in Cockwood, a village on the western bank of the Exe Estuary in Devon. It is a popular boating spot with a church, pubs and accommodation. Cockwood Harbour is known for the railway line that runs over the narrow strip of land between the harbour and the sea. The line continues to Dawlish, where it follows the coastline and offers stunning views of the water. Cockwood Harbour is part of the Exe Estuary Trail, a cycle and walking route that follows the River Exe and the canal from Exmouth to Dawlish.

The road between Beer and Seaton offers regular cliff and sea views. As part of the Jurassic coastline, the cliffs jut out majestically from the sea, providing ample ground for fossil hunters.
