Probably medieval, probably the location of the park keeper's lodge. A scheduled ancient monument, but there's not much to see now except the moat.

Great vies of Seventy Acre Lake, in Lee Valley Country Park.

Sports centre for white water canoeing and rafting, with cafe and toilets.

A bridge spans over the waterway that connects Hooks Marsh and Seventy Acres Lake. The bridge is in an elevated position, providing sensational views across the water.

A hide brings you up close to Hall Marsh Scrape. The marsh is made up of a combination of open water, wooded islands, reed beds and marshy corners, that all provides habitat for a wonderful diversity of wildlife species.

The magnificent otter is often seen roaming around this area. This viewing platform will get you up close to the water, increasing your chances of spotting one.

In the autumn months, you'll find an abundance of various fungi on the forest floor of this woodland area.

Stroll through the large ancient woodland of Wormley Wood. The wood is part of the Broxbourne Woods National Nature Reserve and provides habitat to many important species including birds and butterflies.

Decent cafe in there also

Former Abbey with a long and storied history, featuring a mix of Norman, Medieval, and Victorian architecture and decoration, including many stained glass windows and a beautiful painted ceiling.

The Hertfordshire town of Broxbourne is surrounded by great hiking trails. To the west is Broxbourne Woods, which is the county's only national nature reserve and boasts myriad trails. Watery walks include a stroll along the New River Path or Lea Valley Walk long-distance paths. After a day on the trails, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the town.

With its grand old oaks and majestic hornbeams, Hoddesdon Park Wood is a wonderful woodland to explore. The Roman road Ermine Street passes nearby and the woodland is also home to a medieval moated enclosure. Unlike many in the county, there are no bluebells here. However, in mid-April you can expect dazzling green and white carpets of wood anemones.
