"Gamle Fossumbru" (Old Fossumbru) refers to the original bridge that spanned the Glomma River between Askim and Spydeberg, Norway, before it was replaced by the Fossumbru in 1961. The original bridge, a wooden arch structure, was partially destroyed during the Battle of Fossum Bridge during the Nazi invasion of Norway in 1940. The new Fossumbru, a suspension structure with a main span of 125 metres, is now the bridge that crosses the river at that location.

It's a church. Nothing special about it, really. But the roads leading to to the church are nice. Now, why wouldn't they mark those as highlights instead of the church? You can't really cycle inside the church or around the graveyard anyway.

The pizza alone is worth a stop! I had the "Interrail" pizza with ham, rocket, parmesan and olive oil for 200 krone. It was huge. I can only recommend it.

Very nice cafe, I can highly recommend it. Not only are the homemade pizzas very good, but there are books to read and games to play in case the weather is bad and you have to spend a longer time there :-)

Either you come over the old railroad bridge, or down into the valley, the stop at Hølen is worthwhile. Enjoying the river and good food is a good reason for the stop.

The church is a brick church. It was designed by architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan and built by master builders Gulbrand Johnsen and Anders Sand in 1866-1867. The foundation stone was laid on June 23, 1866 and the consecration took place on July 12, 1867. The nave is 20 m long and 11 m wide. The spire of the church is 35 m high. The church has 350 seats. Garder kirke is a long church from 1881 in Vestby Municipality. The building is made of wood and has 175 seats. The altarpiece was painted by Christen Brun based on Adolph Tidemand's altarpiece Christ in Heaven (Tyristrand kirke). There was already a church here in the Middle Ages, but its appearance is unknown. The oldest wooden church was probably built in the early 17th century.
