Såner Church is a modern striking looking church. it was built in 2000 after its predecessor (from 1880) was tragically destroyed by fire in 1995. The quiet surrounding cemetery provides a practical bonus where you can fill up your water bottle before continuing your journey.

The pizza alone is worth a stop! I had the "Interrail" pizza with ham, rocket, parmesan and olive oil for 200 krone. It was huge. I can only recommend it.

Very nice cafe, I can highly recommend it. Not only are the homemade pizzas very good, but there are books to read and games to play in case the weather is bad and you have to spend a longer time there :-)

This little road triangle here (Garder-Kroer-Helgestadveien) is rather nice for hill intervals. My favorite is going clock-wise, starting on the lowest point of Kroerveien and race to the highest point of Garderveien (close to the Furumoveien intersection).

Either you come over the old railroad bridge, or down into the valley, the stop at Hølen is worthwhile. Enjoying the river and good food is a good reason for the stop.

Garder kirke is a long church from 1881 in Vestby Municipality. The building is made of wood and has 175 seats. The altarpiece was painted by Christen Brun based on Adolph Tidemand's altarpiece Christ in Heaven (Tyristrand kirke). There was already a church here in the Middle Ages, but its appearance is unknown. The oldest wooden church was probably built in the early 17th century.
