The Fjordruta provides gorgeous views across Rostolvatnet here, with the broad top of Rostolen rising above. You'll also notice the Rovangen DNT cabin, a charming place to stay while exploring the region. If you've brought your rod, you'll be pleased to know that the lake provides great fishing.

Rovangen is a charming DNT facility on Rostolvatnet. It's a self-service cabin with a total of 24 beds across the two buildings. There's excellent fishing on the lake, while the nearby peak of Rostolen provides great sea views out towards Smøla.

This self-catering cabin (provisions) has 23 beds. Although Hardbakkhytta is 'only' located at 780 meters, it is extremely exposed to the elements and is occasionally snowed in during the winter. Storlisetra Cabin, a self-catering cabin with provisions, has 13 beds. The cabin is easily accessible from Vinjeøra, about 3.5 km along a forest road. Water is available from a nearby well. Further information: https://www.ut.no/hytte/3.1827/

The DNT cabin Sollia, which operates on a self-catering basis (provisions storage) and has 17 beds. Sollia is situated in a truly unique location high above the fjord, in a very sunny spot when the weather is right (hence the name). Furthermore, the cabin's interior, constructed from old stone and new wooden structures (some of the wood comes from a former klippfiskbrygge in Kristiansund), is very tasteful and atmospheric. Inside, there's a fireplace and outside, a cold shower with a view you've probably never seen before (assuming you can tolerate the ice-cold water). DNT hut (open with DNT key), which operates on a self-sufficient basis (food storage) and has 14 beds. Outstanding is the secluded location of the hut amidst several peaks and located directly on the mountain lake Rovatnet. A rowing boat is also available a few meters from the cabin.
