Halandskogen is a small forest that rises as you venture deeper into it. It's a fairly easy hike, especially since halfway through, the beautiful Solabu cabin awaits you for a short break. Next to the trail, there is also a skate and bike track and a small picnic area with tables and benches.

This daytrip cabin is designed as a social meeting place in the forest. In it, you can light a fire in the stove, have lunch while enjoying the view on the mountains and Ryfylke. Best part of it : you can grab a book from the small library inside the cabin. This is a magical place !

Nice 2km hike through the forest to one of Rogaland's day trip cabins, "Solabu". Child-friendly. Free parking.

Åsen Batteri offers a unique look into WWII history in Sola. Built to defend the nearby airport, this site served as a command post and anti-aircraft battery. Unlike other facilities in the region, it remains remarkably intact. You can explore the stone-faced bunkers and gun positions, which are still visible in the terrain. It is a fascinating stop for those interested in exploring well-preserved military structures.

A small stream flows into the beach, where it is indicated that children should not play there because of coliform bacteria.

Beautiful shallow water can be found here… perfect for families with small children.
