One of the most beautiful barbecue areas with a fantastic view. Plenty of tables. A grill from Schweizerfamilie, like everywhere else, is provided, and wood is provided. A wooden lounger for relaxing. It's beautifully situated on the edge of the forest, so it's shady when the sun is shining, and sheltered when it's not so nice.

The Heidbach (Romansh: Rain digl Lai) is an approximately eleven-kilometer-long right tributary of the Albula in the canton of Graubünden. It drains the area around the holiday resort of Lenzerheide and crosses a section of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Cultural Landscape".

The suspension bridge built between Grub AR and Grub SG is already five years old. During this time, thousands have ventured across the narrow, 180-meter-long footbridge that runs 46 meters above the Mattenbach. Despite having the same place name, the two communities on the Vorderland border waters of Mattenbach were once mortal enemies due to their different religious beliefs.

Originally, the Wald population - like the villages in the near and far surroundings - were churchgoers of Goldach. A church was built there in 1275. In 1461, the Appenzell settlements separated from Goldach. A separate parish church was built in Trogen, thus establishing the (church) community of Trogen. A good two hundred years later, another split occurred: Rehetobel built its first village church in 1669, Wald in 1686/1687. These two places thus also became independent (church) communities. The foundation stone for the Wald church was laid on May 20, 1686, and it was consecrated on May 8, 1687. It retained its original appearance until it was renovated in 1902: Because the people of Wald no longer wanted to be laughed at for their apparently too short church tower, it was raised by six meters, and at the same time the village got a new bell. Further renovations followed, the last significant one in 1967/1968. Among other things,
