The Vordemwald Reformed Church is the Reformed village church in the Aargau municipality of Vordemwald. It was consecrated in 1949 and belongs to the Zofingen Reformed parish. In order to avoid the long journey of over five kilometers to attend sermons in Zofingen, the idea of building a church in Vordemwald arose as early as the 19th century. However, the local municipality rejected the construction twice because, despite the promised donations, it was afraid of the construction and follow-up costs. It was not until the end of the first half of the 20th century that the construction project was taken up again. A church building association was founded and the parish assembly decided to build a church on June 23, 1947. The church was built by the architect Hans Hübscher. It was consecrated in December 1949. The total cost was 347,000 Swiss francs. The ringing of the four donated bells was celebrated a year later. In 1996, the church was renovated inside and out. Direction Sennhof the adventure trail

An ancient oak tree, which must be several hundred years old, stands on the path to the Fennern. The Fennern can be found between Vordemwald and Bösenwil, Brittnau municipality. Even as a small boy I was impressed by the size of the oak tree. Even back then we needed five people to “measure” the circumference together. Shake hands with each other, stretch out your arms, lean against the tree and thus surround the tree. The ancient tree still fascinates me today. What has he probably already experienced???

The long wood is 20 hectares in size. Since 2010 it is a natural forest reserve. One third of the area today is very humid or actually water surface. That's the way it used to be. Because the wood was needed, the long wood was laid dry and spruce was planted. Storm Lothar felled practically all firs in the area. The canton of Aargau decided to make a fresh start and the forest was again wet.

At the southern foot of the Rümlisberg, this magnificent vantage point is located under a linden tree. The view to the south-east shows the Benzliger and the Schächlerberg. A little further west you look over the schoolhouse and church to the nursing home Sennhof. In favorable weather you can see the great alpine panorama.
